Samarkand Kaftan
A full-length kaftan printed on pure habutai silk with a repeating medallion motif in deep red, rust, and amber on an ivory ground. The pattern draws on the decorative traditions of Central Asia and the Persian court, star forms and botanical geometry that travelled the Silk Route and left their mark on textiles from Anatolia to Rajasthan. Designed and digitally printed onto silk in the atelier. Habutai silk is lightweight and fluid with a quiet natural sheen, it drapes rather than holds, and moves well.
Wear it:
As a dress on its own, or layered over wide trousers or palazzo pants.
A note on the print:
The medallion — circular, radiating, endlessly repeated — is one of the defining motifs of the Silk Route aesthetic. This print takes that form back to its archival roots and brings it into contemporary cloth.
Our kaftans are designed as one free size, cut to drape and move generously on the body. We offer six distinct styles: Kimono, V Neck, Frock, Cowl Neck, Collar, and Pleated, each with its own silhouette and construction. Because each style is cut differently, the fit and volume vary across the range: the Pleated is our most expansive, the Collar the most structured, and the Frock the most defined at the chest. All styles share the same full length of 55" / 140cm.Please refer to our size guide for the garment measurements of each style, and feel free to reach out if you'd like help choosing.
